JAKARTA, Executive Board of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI PB) again held the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) 2011, in Jakarta.
There are some things that were discussed and will be recommended to the government. One is the expectation that PGRI education office, the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment (Kemenpan), as well as other parties, do not make policies and regulations that burden the teachers, related professional development and coaching.
PB Chairman PGRI, Sulistiyo, explained, there are rumors that circulated when Kemenpan want to add hours of teaching teachers to be equivalent to hours of work of Civil Servants (PNS) in general, that which was originally 24 hours a week to 27.5 hours a week.
"Please do not make regulations that lead to teacher stress," said Sulistiyo, when met on the sidelines of RakornasPB PGRI, Thursday (09/08/2011) evening, in Jakarta.
The man who is familiarly called Sulis was added, according to ongoing assessments designed by Kemenpan, and will apply from January 1, 2013, teacher assessments are also required by the elements of the publication of scientific papers. According to him, became unrealistic with the current conditions of teachers which is formed from the development and teacher education institutions in the past.
"Now there are many teachers who are not good quality. Never told to write a research, let alone working in the interior, there is never a seminar course. So, if you want to make rules to regulate teachers, should refer to the real conditions of teachers today. Its base rather than a desire a nonsense without knowing the real condition, because it can make the teacher stress, "he added.
In addition, the Sulis also appealed to all parties do not close your eyes and if all the teachers a great leveler. Although only just discourse, but he claimed to be captured, if at any time there is always an attempt to make the teacher.
He gave examples, such as teachers who teach subjects that only gets a small art one hour a week. To meet the 24 hours of teaching time, means that teachers must teach 24 classes with 40 students, but not every school has 24 classes.
Inversely, for example, a teacher who teaches mathematics. The teacher can teach four hours and requires only six classes. For him, this is a form of injustice.
"I hope this time PGRI recommendations can be considered, including the final regulations a minimum income of non-civil servant teachers, to be more regulated by government. At - least equal to the salaries of civil service teachers with the lowest rank, and service life of zero years. If you can, it will very good, but if budget is not there, we are still regulated, so that no party - who persecute the teaching profession by providing a wage arbitrarily - Mena, "he said.
